About Select Milk Producers
As you pour milk over your cereal or add it your coffee, do you ever stop and think where does it come from?
I know, silly question — cows! But have you ever thought further, like where do these cows live? How are they treated?
Select Milk Producers, Inc. takes that guesswork out. You can rest assured that the more than 9 billion pounds of milk that Select Milk produces each year comes from innovative sustainable farming and extraordinary animal care and comfort.
Select Milk formed in 1994 out of a desire by a group of family dairy producers to develop a national footprint for the perfect milk. Founded on honesty, trust, and quality, Select Milk believes in providing their customers with the highest quality fresh milk and doesn’t settle for anything less.
Select Milk believes in operating all aspects of their business with the highest standards, including its cooperative of 99 family dairy farm members.

Select Milk Producers’ Family Dairy Farm members take pride in their milk and set some of the highest standards for milk quality in the nation. All of Select’s Family Dairy Farmers milk is chilled to 36˚ immediately upon milking. This ensures that the quality, freshness and deliciousness stay in the milk from our farms to your family.
ANIMAL WELFARE
Care & Comfort
All of Select’s Family Dairy Farm Members participate 100% in the National Milk Producers Federation - Farmers Assuring Responsible Management Program, or FARM Program. Prior to this program, we opened up Fair Oaks Farms so people could see exactly how our Family Dairy Farm Members operate.

SUSTAINABILITY
With the future in mind
Pioneering the way forward for sustainability, Fair Oaks Farms has proven that using the waste from a dairy farm can be used to power that same farm and more. The excess electricity we produce is sold to the local power company where it is then used by those around us. We have taken that a step further and partnered with RUAN Trucking and have them use our CNG gas made from the manure to transport our milk to our customer’s plants. Many of our other Family Dairy Farm Members are close to Fair Oaks, and these trucks also haul all their milk. We have reduced the amount of diesel fuel used to haul our milk by over 2 million gallons.

Select Milk Producers, Inc. has proudly adopted the U.S. Dairy Stewardship Commitment, affirming to our customers, our consumers and the global marketplace Select's pledge to responsible dairy production as we nourish the communities we serve. We join other dairy cooperatives and companies around the country in working hard to assure best practices in important areas like animal care, the environment and food safety. We strive to continually improve as we listen to and engage with our diverse stakeholders about what is most important to them. And we pledge to contribute to U.S. dairy’s ability to track and report progress to document our community’s leadership – from farm to table – in the global marketplace. Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest is is a state of the art powder milk and butter facility that will produce over 300,000 pounds of dry nonfat milk per day. We broke ground on this facility in the summer of 2016 and began operations in March 2019.

MWC is a large-scale cheese and whey protein manufacturing facility in St. Johns, Michigan.
